How to watch in the US and UK
US (English): All 380 Serie A matches will be shown live on Paramount + in the USA in 2026-27. English-language rights for 2026-27 stay with CBS Sports, which has carried the league since 2021.
US (Spanish): The Spanish-language rights are new this season. Telemundo holds the exclusive Spanish-language rights, with all 380 matches available on Peacock and selected fixtures also carried on Telemundo, Universo and Telemundo Deportes Ahora. Fox Sports’ own listing for this match showed it on Peacock.
UK and Ireland: DAZN is the safe bet. DAZN will continue to show every match from Serie A during the 2026/27 season, in the UK and Ireland. One preview site also listed TNT Sports 1 and HBO Max. TNT Sports takes only a couple of games per round, though, so that listing is less certain.
Pricing: which UK service should you choose?
| Service | What you get | Price |
|---|---|---|
| DAZN Standard | All 380 Serie A matches | From £15.99/month |
| DAZN Ultimate | All 380 plus more | From £24.99/month |
| TNT Sports | Selected matches only | Depends on plan |
| BBC iPlayer / ALBA | One match per round | TV Licence only |
The DAZN prices come from its renewal announcement, which listed DAZN Standard plan from £15.99/month in the UK and € equivalent in Ireland, and the DAZN Ultimate plan from £24.99/month. The BBC is the free option, but only for one selected match per round across BBC ALBA and BBC iPlayer without a separate sports subscription.
Our verdict: if you follow Napoli or Roma every week, get DAZN Standard. The free BBC game is a bonus, but you can’t count on it being the one you want.
Napoli vs Roma: how they compared before kickoff

| Napoli | Roma | |
|---|---|---|
| Coach | Massimiliano Allegri | Gian Piero Gasperini |
| Points after 7 games | 10 | 17 |
| League record | Three defeats already | Unbeaten (5W, 2D) |
| Last league game | Lost 1-0 at Venezia | Won 2-0 vs Genoa |
| Last European game | Won 4-3 vs Bodø/Glimt | Won 4-0 vs Slovan Bratislava |
| Formation used | 4-3-3 | 3-5-2 |
Roma came into the game ahead. The Serie A table checked before kickoff showed Napoli on ten points from seven games. Roma had seventeen, collected through five wins and two draws. Gasperini’s team remained unbeaten and had conceded just three goals, while Napoli had already suffered three league defeats.
Roma’s run included a slip, though. The Giallorossi began with four wins before a 2-2 draw against defending champions Internazionale after being 2-0 up. After the break, Roma shared a goalless draw with Como before a 2-0 win against Genoa.
Napoli arrived under pressure. Allegri’s side were beaten 1-0 at Venezia, and only a thrilling midweek win over Bodø/Glimt had eased the pressure building around the manager.
Napoli: strengths and weaknesses

– Shaky league form and a manager under scrutiny.
Roma: strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
– The meanest defense in the league so far.
– Malen back up front. Donyell Malen has returned from suspension.
Weaknesses
– No first-choice keeper.
– Midfield depth stretched by injuries.
Team news
Napoli
The club’s absentees list was consistent across sources. Napoli: Alisson Santos, Neres, Buongiorno, Vergara, Favasuli (all injured/out). Alisson Santos suffered a setback in his recovery from a thigh injury, with fellow Brazilian winger David Neres also sidelined with his own thigh issue.
There were two late changes. Vergara (calf) was named in Napoli’s squad list to face Roma and came off the bench. Amir Rrahmani was a doubt too. Allegri said Rrahmani “is under the weather, and we’ll see how he feels Saturday”. He did not start.
Roma
Gasperini was missing four regulars. Roma: Svilar, Dybala, Koné, Pellegrini (all injured/out). FotMob listed Svilar with a broken finger, Dybala with a calf problem and Koné with a thigh injury. Pellegrini has been diagnosed with a high-grade tear of the MTJ of the semitendinous muscle in his right thigh, TeleRadioStereo reported.
Cristante was the late call. He returned to full training and could be available against Napoli. He started.
Confirmed lineups
Napoli (4-3-3): Alex Meret in goal, and a back-four made up of Rafa Marín and Benoît Badiashile as centre-backs, Giovanni Di Lorenzo as a right-back, and Mathías Olivera as a left-back. De Bruyne, Anguissa and McTominay made up the midfield, with Politano, Højlund and Lang in attack.
Roma (3-5-2): Pierluigi Gollini in goal and a back three of Gianluca Mancini, Evan Ndicka and Mario Hermoso. Matías Soulé and Donyell Malen were paired up front, with Bryan Cristante, Niccolò Pisilli, Marten de Roon, Wesley and Devyne Rensch in midfield.
Result: Napoli 3-3 Roma
| Minute | Goal | Score |
|---|---|---|
| 28′ | Anguissa (Napoli) | 1-0 |
| 48′ | McTominay (Napoli) | 2-0 |
| 69′ | Soulé (Roma) | 2-1 |
| 74′ | Balerdi (Roma) | 2-2 |
| 83′ | McTominay (Napoli) | 3-2 |
| 89′ | Balerdi (Roma) | 3-3 |
Scorers and minutes match the official tallies: Anguissa 28 (N), McTominay 48, 83 (N), Soulé 69 (R), Balerdi 74, 89 (R).
The opener was a bicycle kick from Anguissa. Then Politano stood up a cross from the right for the McTominay diving header at the back post, which Gollini tried and failed to claw off the line from point-blank range.
Roma hit back fast. They struck twice in five minutes via Matias Soule and Leonardo Balerdi. McTominay scored a second from distance to restore Napoli’s lead at 3-2, but Balerdi headed home a late equalizer after VAR cleared a controversial clash with Sam Beukema.
That makes it the 2007-08 meeting all over again, at least for goals. That season Roma and Napoli drew 4–4 in Rome.
The Allegri red card
Andrea Colombo refereed. Allegri’s protest started before the VAR check on Balerdi’s equalizer was finished. According to DAZN’s touchline reporter, Allegri told the fourth official Juan Luca Sacchi: “If you don’t disallow this goal…”
Once the VAR review ended without the referee being summoned to the monitor, Allegri began to move away from the touchline. He never made it. Fourth official Sacchi drew the attention of referee Andrea Colombo, who brandished the red card at him.
Common myth
“Referees can only send off players.” Not true. Under Law 5, the referee can also show yellow and red cards to team officials in the technical area, including head coaches.
On the VAR side, the officials followed the protocol. The VAR only calls the referee to the monitor for a clear and obvious error. If the check finds none, the goal stands without an on-field review, which is what happened here.
The ban
Serie A’s sports judge went further than a one-game ban. Reuters reported that Allegri has been handed a two-match ban for abusive remarks and an aggressive attitude towards match officials and an AS Roma staff member. He was also fined €10,000 ($11,200) and is set to miss the Serie A games at Monza on Wednesday and Juventus on Sunday.
He has accepted it. Il Messaggero reports Allegri said he had decided to drop his appeal and would serve the two-match ban.
Gasperini wouldn’t be drawn into a row. Asked about Allegri’s tunnel remarks, he said: “I didn’t hear them, you reported them.” He was happier talking about Soulé: “He’s in his prime, he’s the driving force of this team.”
Which side should be happier?
Roma, clearly. They came from 2-0 down away from home and from 3-2 down in the 83rd minute. They did it without their first-choice keeper, Dybala, Koné and Pellegrini. Their unbeaten start survived the toughest trip so far.
Napoli can point to good things. McTominay was excellent, and Fanpage rated him 8 out of 10. But they gave away a two-goal lead at home and lost their coach for two games.
The response came quickly. Napoli thumped Serie A strugglers Monza 4-1 at Stadio Brianteo on Wednesday. The victory lifts them to sixth in the table with four wins from nine matches.
Roma host Cagliari next. Gasperini said Dybala “might” be back for that one.
